The secret to creativity is knowing how to hide your sources

Hello there, I’m Sheena Overby and I’m a twenty something year old that loves every aspect of digital visual design. After high school I enrolled to Butler County Community College for Business Administration. Now if there are any fellow design or art lovers out there reading this, I urge you… just because making it in the art or design industry takes awhile and might not even happen, don’t turn your back on it! One day before my business law class, I was strumming through my notes to study before a test and saw hundreds of my doodles and imagery throughout those notes. I realized then that I am not supposed to be here. This is not me. So I stopped going.
I eventually went back to school. I temporarily moved to Erie, Pennsylvania and enrolled into Erie Institute of Technology as a Multimedia Graphic Design major. It was there that I realized what it is I truly want to do for the rest of my life. I enjoyed creating logos, and designing letterheads, and visualizing advertisements, and organizing article layouts. I love Typography and using words as images to convey emotions and ideas. Now I’m out of school and want to establish a freelance career and really get my name out there. I currently don’t have the best computer and I need to save up money to buy the things I will need in order to get myself going.
So until that time comes, I’m focusing on my Photography. I really enjoy just taking my camera with me everywhere I go and whipping it out to snap a photo of anything beautiful I see. I find the most beauty in nature. I feel the beauty in nature is like music and dancing, it brings people together and makes people look into themselves for some kind of personal discovery. I don’t at all claim to be a professional photographer, but it is something I really enjoy doing.
